How do you play Hawaii Match 3?

This Match-3 game will take you on a journey around a level map inspired by the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Explore this volcanic archipelago and collect the fruit, flowers, sea shells, and other items you need.

To collect items, you can make two adjacent icons swap places. Tap an item and drag it to a slot directly bordering it. Each move must result in a valid match of three or more identical items. If the move does not result in a match, the icons will simply jump back to their original spot.

At the start of each level you’ll see which items you need to collect. The level objectives may also include fun tasks like clearing away rocks and stones, or going on a treasure hunt. Your progress is tracked in the panel displayed at the top of the screen, just above the Match-3 board.

To return to the level map, tap the box with the gear in it and select the Home icon. Please note that you will lose one heart if you do this mid-level. Your supply of hearts will be replenished each hour, however.

Your tile-matching adventure begins with a brief in-game tutorial to help you get started, but here are some additional tips to help you boost your score:

Create bombs
To complete each level with a three-star rating, you’ll have to score a large number of points. By combining four or more items rather than three, you can earn line bombs, cross bombs, and spiral bombs. These will help you clear away lots of additional items for extra points.

Combine bombs
Clear icons and complete the level objectives even more quickly and efficiently by combining any two bombs. Each bomb is powerful by itself, but when you combine them you can unleash and even bigger blast!

Bonus bombs for surplus moves
Try not to waste any moves. You only have a limited number per level. Even if you have plenty of moves to complete an objective, try to save as many as you can. At the end of each level, all remaining moves will be converted to bombs, which will be set off at once and cause a huge cascade of match-3 chain reactions.

Don’t always go along with the hints
If you wait some time before making a move, the game will automatically provide hints by highlighting two tiles you can swap. However, the suggested move is not always the best one available! If you find the Hints feature distracting, you can switch it off by tapping on the gear icon and then tapping the lightbulb to turn Hints on or off.
