Outspell
Outspell is the online puzzle game based on the popular word game Scrabble. You play against an opponent and try to create high value words by linking tiles in your hand with tiles on the board. You lay down the tiles and create words, and all the tiles that lay down have to make a word out of the dictionary either vertically or horizontally.
How to play Outspell
First, you choose the level that you want to play on; easy, medium or hard. Then you lay down the first word with the tiles in your hands, and the computer makes a word connecting to the tiles you have placed down. This is how the game progresses. You search for words every round. Also check out Words of Wonders for more word fun!
Each turn, you can give up your turn by exchanging tiles in your hands with tiles in your bag. If you are stuck, use this to get new letters and make new words. You can also use the dictionary to check if it is possible to make words with the tiles in your hands. Some letters have different values. The letter Q for example has a higher value, because it is hard to make words with this letter. The letter E has the lowest value because a lot of words have this letter. Using the higher valued letters first could be a good tactic. You also have ‘empty tiles’. You can click on these tiles and then choose a letter of your choice, and the tile will turn into this letter.
The game ends when there are no tiles left in the bag, and both players either have lost all the tiles in their hands or both players can’t create a new word on the board any more. The player with the highest score wins. Similar to Scrabble, Outspell gives bonus points. There are spots on the board that multiply your values by 2 or 3 times. The blue spots only do this for the letter on the spot, while the red spots do this for the word or words created by connecting that spot.
